The Smithsonian Latino Center increases access to Latino art, history, and culture through public programs, educational materials, career and leadership development, and financial support. In 2022, the Center opened the Molina Family Latino Gallery, the forerunner to the National Museum of the American Latino. The Molina Family Latino Gallery tells U.S. history from the perspectives of the diverse Latinas and Latinos who lived it. The first exhibition uncovers hidden and forgotten stories, connect visitors to Latino culture, and lay the foundation for understanding how Latinas and Latinos inform and shape U.S. history.
