Dish

Object Details

Description
The plate is fairly shallow with a wide rim and curved sidewall. It is painted with a blue material, probably a cobalt, and covered with a thick, transparent glaze that has a slightly bluish tint. This dish bears a standard design of a tree peony plant with three large blossoms filling the central roundel; the sidewall is decorated with a diaper-pattern interspersed with flowers, and small blossoms appear on the wide rim.
